Catwalk shoot 2 - Beauty trends at Giles SS16

The Giles SS16 had a very Elizabethan feel which was enhanced by the choice of some very pale, red haired models used as well as models of all other skin toned and hair colours/types. The messy, romantic dutch braids gave a romantic, renaissance feel and the pale skin with doll-like eyes and bright red lips gave a modern twist inspired by the fashionable aesthetic of the Elizabethan era. After looking through the beauty and hairstyles used at this show I have been inspired with ideas for my own take on a catwalk makeup design. The SS16 makeup trends I will be using as inspiration for this look is wispy eyelashes and freckles and maybe some regal metallic accents. As my model has pale skin she will suit this aesthetic well and her red hair I want to put in some sort of braid to keep it romantic and renaissance but keeping it modern.

This video by Label.M shows the backstage process of getting the models hair ready for the Giles SS16 runway show. Indira Schauwecker, the International Artistic Director for Tony and Guy, she explains what products they used to create the dutch braid hairstyle for the show, how they achieved certain effects and what the look was inspired by.
